Community Guidelines
Standards for honest, respectful recruiter reviews that help candidates — without putting people at risk.
Last updated June 22, 2026
Overview
Rate My Recruiter exists so job seekers can share firsthand recruiting experiences — ratings, timelines, outcomes, and feedback — in a way that helps the next candidate make informed decisions.
Our standard
Write the review you wish you had read before you replied to that InMail. Be specific, be honest, and treat others the way you would want to be treated in a professional setting. These guidelines apply to reviews, comments, reactions, company submissions, and any other content you contribute. They work together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
What we expect
- Post only about experiences you personally had or directly participated in.
- Be factual and fair. Strong criticism is allowed; personal attacks are not.
- Use timelines and specifics when they add clarity.
- Respect that recruiters and employers are people — focus on behavior and process, not protected characteristics.
- Report content that appears false, abusive, or intended to harm someone.
Prohibited content
The following is not allowed and may be removed. Repeated or serious violations can result in account restrictions.
- Harassment or threats — including slurs, intimidation, or content primarily intended to humiliate an individual.
- Doxxing & private information— personal phone numbers, private email addresses, home addresses, or other non-public contact details (yours or anyone else's).
- Deanonymization attempts — trying to identify or expose who wrote a review or comment.
- False or misleading content — fabricated interactions, coordinated fake reviews, or astroturfing on behalf of a recruiter or employer.
- Spam & manipulation — duplicate posts, promotional content unrelated to a recruiting experience, or attempts to game ratings.
- Confidential information — non-public compensation details you were asked to keep confidential, internal documents, or trade secrets.
- Illegal content — anything that violates applicable law.
Company submissions
If an employer is not yet listed, you may submit it when writing a review. New companies may be reviewed before associated content is published broadly.
- Provide accurate company names and legitimate public references (website or professional page) when asked.
- Do not submit fake employers or impersonate organizations.
- Understand that approval is at our discretion and may take time.
Moderation & enforcement
We use a combination of community reports, automated signals, and human review to keep the platform useful and safe. We may remove content, hide content pending review, or restrict accounts that violate these guidelines or our Terms.
- Not every report results in removal — we consider context and these guidelines.
- We do not independently verify every factual claim in user reviews.
- Moderation decisions are made to protect users and the integrity of the platform.
- If your content is removed, you may not repost substantially similar violating content.
For recruiters & employers
If you believe content is inaccurate or violates these guidelines, contact us at legal@ratemyrecruiter.dev with the page URL and a clear explanation. We review good-faith requests but do not remove honest negative opinions solely because they are critical. How to report
